Your cycle predictions come from the dates you log. The ring's overnight skin temperature is shown alongside as a supporting signal, so you can see how your body is tracking through the month. It is not a temperature based fertility method, and it is not a medical, diagnostic or contraceptive tool.

Charge the charging case first until it's full (about two hours), then charge your ring on it for a full hour. Turn Bluetooth on, open the free ALYN app, and pair your ring from inside the app. A couple of minutes and you're wearing it.

That's normal Bluetooth behaviour, not a fault. Your ring disconnects when Bluetooth is off or when you move away from your phone, and it keeps recording on its own the whole time. As soon as you're back near your phone it reconnects by itself, and opening the app reconnects it straight away and syncs everything across. To keep things smooth, leave Bluetooth on and allow the ALYN app to run in the background.

A gap usually just means your ring hasn't synced yet. It stores 2–3 days of data on board and sends it across the moment it reconnects — open the app with Bluetooth on and everything comes through. Data is only genuinely lost if the ring fully powered down, either from a flat battery or from being left off your finger. Keeping Bluetooth on and background refresh enabled is what keeps everything syncing smoothly.

There are three usual reasons.

1. The charge. The most common one. If the charging case wasn't fully charged, your ring only part-charged. Fully charge the charging case first, then give the ring a full hour on it.

2. Bluetooth and phone settings. Keep Bluetooth switched on, turn off low power mode, and allow Background App Refresh (iPhone) or background activity (Android) for the ALYN app.

3. It's been left unworn. Completely normal. If you take your ring off and leave it sitting, it powers down to save battery, the same way earbuds do. Pop it back on the charging case to wake it, then open the app.

This is almost always the charging case running low. If the charging case is low on power, your ring only takes a partial charge, so it feels like it's dying within a day. Charge the charging case fully, then charge the ring on it for a full hour, and you should be back to 4 to 6 days.

Your ring takes a little time to learn your body. The sensors adjust to your skin and skin tone over roughly the first week of consistent wear, so your readings settle and get more accurate the longer you wear it.

If your ring still switches itself off within a day after a proper full charge (charging case fully charged, ring charged for a full hour) it's a faulty unit, and we'll replace it. Email us at support@alynring.com and let us know: how many days it lasts from a full charge, the battery percentage the app shows just before it turns off, whether it reaches 100% on the charging case, and whether you're on iPhone or Android. We'll take care of it from there.
